Recently, Cyberpunk 2077 saw a delay that put it well off its initial release date. While it was originally planned for April, it’s now a lot closer to the release of next-gen consoles.
Because of the proximity of the game’s new release date to the PS5’s release window of Holiday 2020, as well as the release window of the Xbox Series X, some fans were worried that Cyberpunk 2077 would skip the PS4 and Xbox One entirely. However, according to CD Projekt Red’s latest investor call, “Cyberpunk is right now heading for PS4, Xbox One and PC.”
The developer added, “We’re of course looking at the next generation all the time. We’re privy to a lot of information on what’s going on with these platforms, but frankly speaking, we have nothing to share now related to that.” In other words: whether or not the game will drop for PS5 or the Xbox Series X on release is still to be seen.
We do know, though, that Cyberpunk 2077 will be at the Taipei Game Show in some capacity. The game show is set to run from February 6 to February 9. Hopefully, the game will not see any further delays, and, for good reason, make its yearly appearances on our most-anticipated games lists a thing of the past.
