It’s Valentine’s Day, the season of love — and Pokemon, it seems. Whether you’re taking a solo stroll or traveling about with friends and loved ones, Niantic’s got some hot-pink reasons for you to jump back into its AR ‘mon catcher this weekend.
The Pokemon GO Valentine’s event starts February 14 at 8 a.m. local time and runs through February 17 at 10 p.m. During the event, you’ll be seeing a lot more pink Pokemon around. They’ll be in Eggs, encounters, research tasks, and basically everywhere else.
Audino, the Unova version of Chansey, is making its debut, along with everyone’s favorite misfit fish, er… “Caring Pokemon”… Alomomola. But new as they are, these two won’t be easy to track down, as they’re rare encounters.
Fortunately, your Lures are getting a boost and last for six hours, making it easier to find Pokemon. There’s a 2x Candy bonus into the bargain too. If you don’t get lucky finding Audino or Chansey you may happen across Shiny Happiny in an Egg or Shiny Chansey in the wild.
February 15 will feature a pink-themed Raid Day as well, with a four-star Lickitung that knows Body Slam up for grabs.
If Valentine’s Day isn’t your thing, though, there’s still some Pokemon GO goodness to look forward to. More Shadow Pokemon made their appearance this month, and there’s some special happenings on the horizon for Pokemon Day on the horizon as well.
The Pokemon GO website has the full event rundown. Stay tuned to GameSkinny for more Pokemon GO news as it blossoms.
