Fast paced multiplayer titles like the third Borderlands are seeing a big bump in online matchmaking as gamers stay home in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. The recent Steam release doesn’t help it much, either.
Unfortunately, that increased usage and heavy player load means server problems are starting to crop up and many players are experiencing issues with SHiFT server connectivity.
Check out the latest update straight from the development team below. A new patch to help connectivity problems is expected to arrive later today. For now, your best bet is to stay on top of the SHiFT Status Twitter account for an official update on when the servers will again be live.

In other Borderlands 3 news, the upcoming DLC Guns, Love, and Tentacles: The Marriage of Wainwright & Hammerlock arrives on March 26, 2020.
We’ve also now confirmed that Hostel-director Eli Roth is onboard to helm an upcoming Borderlands feature film. Stay tuned for more news on that movie and Borderlands 3 coming soon!
