Pokemon GO is hosting a new event in time for Halloween, the Catch Mastery: Ghost event. It runs from October 25 at 8 a.m. local time to 10 p.m. local time on the same day, and it’s part of Pokemon GO‘s wider Halloween festivities.

During the Catch Mastery: Ghost event, players will encounter Drifloon in the wild more often than usual, and there’s a chance it might even be a Shiny Drifloon.

Those who completed the Pokemon GO Mega Buddy Event during September can take on special Field Research tasks to encounter even more Ghost Pokemon and earn Gengar Mega Energy in the process. Pokemon need Mega Energy to Mega Evolve in Pokemon GO, and it’s normally available just in special Raids.

Aside from the Mega Buddy-related tasks, the Catch Mastery: Ghost event features event-exclusive Timed Research anyone can take part in.

Finally, there’s extra XP on offer for all Pokemon catches with Nice, Great, Excellent, and Curveball throws.

This is just one of the treats in store for Pokemon GO‘s Halloween event, with special Raids, legendary Pokemon, costumes, and more on offer from October 23 through November 3.
