In Hood: Outlaws & Legends, your goal in this squad-based, PvPvE heist game is to break into a heavily guarded fortress, steal from the wealthy landowners, and make it out alive in order to redistribute that wealth to the poor. However, if you really want to get the most out of every heist, you need to know how to divide that money that you steal. That involves upgrading different elements, including your individual characters and your hideout.
Even though you’ll spend most of your time in Hood in the different locations, you’ll still spend a lot of time in the game’s central hub: your hideout. Here’s how you upgrade your hideout in Hood: Outlaws & Legends and what you’ll get out of it.
How to Upgrade Your Hideout in Hood: Outlaws & Legends
To upgrade your hideout, you’ll need gold. You can get gold from a variety of places, but your best bet is finishing heists. When you finish a round of Hood: Outlaws & Legends, your team will receive gold and XP based on your performance. A huge chunk of that comes from completing the final section of the winching process, so make sure your team finishes things out if you want the biggest reward.
Even if your team isn’t left standing victorious, however, you’ll still receive some rewards to distribute and build up. Your XP goes to the character class you played, unlocking new perk options for later matches. Your gold can go to a few different places, however, and where it goes determines what new unlocks you’ll find.
At the end of each match, you’ll have the option to split your gold between the purse and the people. On the scales of justice, you’ll be able to distribute the gold you earned from your match as you see fit. Any money that goes into your purse is yours to spend on unlockable cosmetics for your weapons and characters. Each skin costs a set amount of gold, so you’ll want to save up for the ones you want.
To upgrade your hideout, you’ll want to channel your inner Robin Hood and give your money to the people. Any money you set aside for the people will automatically go towards upgrading your hideout to the next level. You don’t have to actually do anything with that gold after you choose for it to go to the people.
You can see how close you are to your next hideout level on the rewards screen. You can also see your current hideout level in the top left of the screen when you are in your hideout, underneath your character name and gold total. After you reach a new threshold of gold given to the people, you should see this number tick up the next time you’re back at your hideout.
Why Should I Upgrade My Hideout in Hood: Outlaws & Legends?
For the unlocks, of course! Every time your hideout goes up a level, you unlock more skins that you can then purchase for your weapons and outfits. You still need to spend the gold you’ve pocketed yourself on these items, so it makes sense to generally split gold fairly evenly between your purse and the people after each heist. This will give you a steady supply of new items to purchase, as well as the means to actually claim the ones you want.
That’s all you need to know about how to upgrade your hideout in Hood: Outlaws & Legends. Though the game is a little rough out of the gate, we hope it can maintain enough of a player base to iron out some issues and capitalize on its strengths.
