This Ruined King guide will provide you with tips on how to fish, as well as provide you with all fishing locations. You will learn how and where to buy angling gear, or simply find it for free, as well as understand the mini-game better.

How to Fish in Ruined King: A League of Legends Story

Fishing becomes available during one of the main story mission, “Fortune’s Call“. In this quest, you’ll be directed to the Fishmonger, a merchant who sells rods and bait. They also provide you with Black Marks once you bring back some fish chunks.

You can find the Fishmonger at the Ship Salvage Yard in the Docks Harbor. This is also the location of your first Fishing Hole.

Follow these steps to buy the Rod and Bait from the Fishmonger:

  1. Interact with the Fishmonger.
  2. Select the “Browse Wares” option from his menu.
  3. Go to the “Buy Fishing” tab (hook icon).
  4. Select an item you wish to buy.
  5. Press “BUY” to confirm.

A regular Sturdy or Steel Fishing Rod will cost around 300 gold. Some of the bait will be around 200-300 gold as well. You will only need one bait for all fishing trips, so there is no need to buy more.

If you don’t want to spend money on fishing wares, you can find a free rod inside the treasure chest located in the Buhru Grotto in the Bilgewater area.

Now, travel to any available fishing hole. Equip your gear by following these steps:

  1. Open the pause menu.
  2. Select the “Fishing” option.
  3. Click on “ROD” and select a fishing rod from your inventory.
  4. Click on “LURE” and select bait from your inventory.
  5. Press “ESC” to confirm.

Now you can finally start fishing. Here are a few important tips to get you started:

  • Press “E” to cast your line, making sure that your casting strength gauge is full.
  • Wait for the “Fish On” pop-up message, indicating that a fish took the bait and is on the lure.
  • Keep pressing “E” to reel in the fish on the hook.
  • Once the green gauge on the fish is reduced to zero, the fish will be caught.
  • Press “F” to open Fishing Journal and see what kind of fish you caught.

You can repeat this process as many times as you want, but you can also buy more expensive fishing gear and visit other Fishing Holes for better fish. Below you will find the list of all fishing locations in the game.
