For those of you who have been with the Sims franchise since the beginning, this wont be a surprise. The Sims 3 is coming out with a new expansion pack October 22, called The Sims 3: Into the Future. Right before that holiday rush, but still not too close to summer.
What’s so special about another expansion pack?
The Sims 3 has been busting out expansion packs for years, ranging from World Adventures all the way up to the newest one, Island Paradise. The real kicker about this new one is well, the name. The Sims 3: Into the Future will clearly include more futuristic objects, as well as clothing for the characters. Most Sim 3 expansions are very straight-forward and have been done before in the past. This new expansion however, has never been done before in earlier stages of the Sim games, and will give you something to look forward to.
New Feature: Jumping Between Times
Within this new expansion, your character will have the ability to jump between different times; the future and the present. Things that happen during the present time will affect the future. You might think that this seems familiar. I believe Doc Brown and Marty McFly have done this before! Whether the developers at Maxis realised it or not, we’ve seen this hit motion pictures before, but never had the ability to control the outcomes.
New items and locations up for grabs.
As all of us seasoned-Sim players know, with new expansion packs comes new items. Not to rock the boat, but these new items blow the older ones out of the water. A few items include jetpacks, holographic TVs, and of course hoverboards. Just imagine the creativity of the Sims taking technology to the next level. Also, more venues are available like shopping plazas, where you can check out the latest in-game technology and fashion.
If you think you’re up for the challenge of creating the perfect future for your line of characters check it out. Hopefully we can wait the sixty-seven days, but I slightly doubt it. We might all just get stir crazy like our sims do.
