Destiny 2: How to Get Hierarchy of Needs Exotic Bow

Getting Hierarchy of Needs can be tough or simple, depending on your luck. Either way, we have the steps right here.

The Hierarchy of Needs Exotic Bow can be one of the hardest exotics to find in Destiny 2. You can earn it in just a single run, or it may take ages to drop. The weapon is a very interesting take on the Bow archetype, with an exotic perk unlike anything else available in the game. This guide will cover how to get Hierarchy of Needs so you can add it to your vault.

How to Get Hierarchy of Needs in Destiny 2

There’s only one way to get the Hierarchy of Needs Exotic Bow: complete the Spire of the Watcher Dungeon by defeating Persys, Primordial Ruin.

If you’re lucky enough to earn it, it will go into your inventory automatically rather than dropping from the loot chest.

You have three chances of getting the Hierarchy of Needs per week: one for every character that can run the Dungeon. You can also complete three Triumphs to marginally increase your chances.

  • Complete the Devil in the Details Triumph by collecting all six Devilish recordings throughout the early parts of the Dungeon.
  • Complete the Spire of the Watcher Dungeon solo (though not solo flawless).
  • Complete the Master difficulty version of the Spire of the Watcher Dungeon.

Completing the Dungeon solo is mostly a matter of will. Unless you have a highly optimal build. Both the Akelous and Persys boss fights will take you at least four phases to properly defeat. Persys, in particular, is absolute chaos, with the boss following you around, blasting away.

Playing Master difficulty for Hierarchy is a slog of its own. The Dungeon starts at 1610 Power and goes up, and all of the Minotaurs become Overload Champions. Bosses take about 50% less damage as well. Thankfully, you don’t get sent back to orbit for failing an encounter, but even one fight can take fifteen minutes or more.

With all three bonuses unlocked, you still aren’t guaranteed to find Hierarchy of Needs, and you might spend weeks without a drop. Once you get it, you’ll need to go through the Master Dungeon again for the Exotic Catalyst, so be prepared for that.

We wish there were more to do to up your chances at the Hierarchy of Needs Exotic Bow in Destiny 2, but there’s already a quest exotic this season: the Vexcalibur Exotic Special Glaive. We covered its questline, The Variable. Our guides hub to the game more.
