The Corgi minion is the most adorable addition to Final Fantasy XIV 6.3, and naturally, just about every player wants to know how to get the little bundle of joy. How to get the Corgi minion requires time and effort or deep pockets, depending on the route you choose to take. The former is probably the better option. If you’re looking to get Mama Automaton, we’ve got you covered there.
How to Unlock the Corgi Minion in FFXIV
You need Faux Leaves to get the Corgi minion without emptying your coffers, which is much easier said than done.
First, you must unlock the Wondrous Tails system if you haven’t already, which is done via a Level 60 blue quest titled “Keeping Up with the Aliapohs”. This is found in Idyllshire at the coordinates 7.0, 5.9, from an NPC named Unctuous Adventurer.
Once you’ve done this, and provided you’ve finished the Shadowbringers questline, you can then pick up the quest “Fantastic Mr. Faux” in Idyllshire as well. The Painfully Ishgardian Man found at the same coordinates as above will give you the quest.
The Faux Hollows system tasks you with completing an Unreal difficulty version of an older trial, with the 6.3 trial being Containment Bay P1T6 (Unreal). The amount of Faux Leaves you can get per week depends on how lucky you get with the Faux Hollows minigame, much akin to the Wondrous Tails system.
You need 400 Faux Leaves to get the Corgi minion, which can take a few weeks to get depending on your luck.
Where to Buy the Corgi Minion
Alternatively, you can buy a Corgi minion on the Market Board if you don’t feel like dealing with the trouble. But it’s not cheap, with the minion costing millions of gil at the time of writing. It’s cute, but is it 6 million gil cute? That’s up to you.
That’s all you need to know if you’re wondering how to get the Corgi minion in FFXIV.
