How to Unlock Eureka Orthos in Final Fantasy XIV

In order to enter Eureka Orthos, you must complete the “Endwalker” Main Scenario Quest and through Floor 50 of Palace of the Dead.

If you haven’t unlocked Palace of the Dead, you can do so by talking to Nojiro Marujiro located in New Gridania at (X:12, Y:13.1) and accepting the quest titled “The House That Death Built.”

If you’ve just picked up the quest or need to enter the Palace of the Dead at a later time after completing “The House That Death Built,” you’ll need to speak with Wood Wailer Expeditionary Captain located in Quarrymill in the South Shroud (X: 25, Y: 20.6).

After you’ve cleared Floor 50, you can accept the quest to unlock Eureka Orthos titled “Delve Into Myth” with any Disciple of War or Magic class that is Level 81 or higher. This quest is given by Koh Rabntah in Mor Dhona (X: 21.8, Y: 8).

Like the previous deep dungeons, you’ll have two available save slots for Eureka Orthos that can be filled with a fixed or a matched party, the former meaning that you have to enter with the same players and classes if you return to the save at a later date.

Eureka Orthos has a total of 100 floors, and you’ll have a set of Aetherpool Armor and an Aetherpool Weapon to use during the dungeon. You begin at Level 81, and the experience you gain in the dungeon is separate from experience gained outside it. You’ll also have an inventory that’s unique to your save slot that you can gather Protomanders in so you can use their effects as you go through the floors.

After Floor 30, you’ll receive an Orthos Aetherpool Fragment that you can use to trade with the Synthesis Node located in Mor Dhona (X: 34.9, Y: 19). You can also get a weapon from the node by receiving the Orthos Aetherpool Grip from the side quest “Rage Extinguished.” However, when you receive the grip, your gear in Eureka Orthos will lose 10 levels.
