What about an AR game like Pokemon GO, but.. Monster Hunter? Announced earlier today by Pokemon GO developer Niantic is just that: Monster Hunter Now! Pairing the wonder of Monster Hunter‘s array of monsties with the augmented reality tech Niantic have more than proven their worth in, Monster Hunter Now is just on the horizon with a closed beta launching in just a week on April 25. How can you sign up for the Monster Hunter Now beta?

How to Sign Up for Monster Hunter Now Closed Beta

To sign up for the closed beta, you’ll need to fill out a form on the Monster Hunter Now website here. You’ll need to provide your email and some personal information, as well as your device type and Monster Hunter game experience level. 

How will I know if I get into the Monster Hunter Now Beta?

You’ll know if you got in via an email from Niantic after you’ve signed up, with notifications going out on April 25. The beta test is limited to 10,000 players, so you’ll be one of a lucky few if you happen to get in.

It’s important to note that the game’s beta test progression won’t carry over into the final version, so playing the beta is worth it for the sneak peek, not a headstart on other players. The beta version will have English and Japanese language support.

The fully launched game will be available on iOS and Android via the App Store and Google Play. Monster Hunter Now promises to bring the Monster Hunter fantasy to life, and connect players with their Palico in the real world. 

While many can probably attest to hundreds, if not thousands, of hours across the Monster Hunter franchise, Niantic promises a good time for fans and newcomers alike, adding: “Monster Hunter Now will be the ultimate experience for anyone who has dreamed of facing off against epic monsters and battling them with friends.”
