Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (TotK) — Archaic Armor Location Guide

Here's our guide to help you find the Archaic Tunic location in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Archaic Armor is a piece of clothing that doesn’t protect Link too much compared to other sets, but it’s worth grabbing early in the game so he’s not naked. Also known as the Archaic Tunic, this armor can be found in the tutorial area. Here’s our guide to help you find the Archaic Tunic location in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

The first thing you’re likely to receive as a reward is the Archaic Legwear, a tattered loincloth of sorts. It’s fairly hard to miss since it’s in the very first cave, where you’ll wake up at the start of the campaign.

As for the Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Archaic Armor (Archaic Tunic), I had to explore the Great Sky Island a bit more. Specifically, go south and then east once you’re finished with the puzzle in In-Isa Shrine. You’ll be heading south, then east. Along the way, you should come across a point-of-interest called Pondside Cave.

Make your way through the caverns and take out the enemies there. At the very end, you should find a Bubbul Frog. You can kill it and pick up the Bubbul Gem that it drops. Also, in this location, you should see a narrow tunnel off to the side. Follow it, and you’ll spot another chest. Open it to get the TotK Archaic Armor.

As mentioned earlier, the Archaic Armor really doesn’t offer a lot of protection, as it simply gives +1 armor rating. It’s next to useless against bosses and tougher enemies. However, it does let Link run around with a top on.

Though that’s how to get the Archaic Armor in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, we do recommend replacing it soon enough, perhaps once you’ve reached Lookout Landing in Hyrule. For more tips articles and help, visit our Zelda: TotK guides hub.
