The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Hovercraft is a type of vehicle that you can build in the game. There are different variants, from makeshift options to high-tech ones that use Zonai Devices and other abilities. Here’s our guide to help you build a Hovercraft in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
How to Build a Hovercraft in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
The first time you need to build a TotK Hovercraft is when you’re trekking through the Great Sky Island starting area. There’s a portion where you have to cross a flowing river as you’re heading to the third Shrine. The nearby Constructs tell you about your Energy Device, which acts much like a battery. It’ll slowly drain as you’re powering a Zonai device.
In any case, for the Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Hovercraft, you’ll want to use logs, either those on the ground or ones that you get when cutting down trees. Use Ultrahand to attach these side by side, a bit like building a Boat in the game.
The difference here is that you also want to attach a Zonai Fan at the back. Make sure the “front” of the fan (i.e., yellow power button) is facing away from the fan itself, as this is where the air will come from. You can see how I placed mine in the image below.
Once you’ve created your own contraption, bring it close to the edge of the river. Ride it, and smack the Zonai Fan to activate it. The wind power will take you all the way to the opposite bank.
Other TotK Hovercrafts
But that’s not all. There are still other variants of Hovercrafts, including one that can be found via a Schema Stone (i.e., Schematic). I found this further in the Depths quest chain, after beating the boss there for a second time. The Construct rewards the Hovercraft schematic, which consists of a Sled, Light, and Fan.
Since you should have the Autobuild ability by then, you’ll be able to create that vessel from nearby related materials, or from scratch (though missing parts will cost some Zonaite).
