The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Opals use is a bit of a mystery. You get so many of them over the course of your travels, but there don’t seem to be any specific uses for them. You can do something with them, though. Well, two things. Here’s what to do with Opals in TotK.

Opals in Tears of the Kingdom can be obtained from breaking ore deposits. Before I realized it, they started accumulating in my inventory and I had to decide what to do with them.
You can choose to sell Opals to a vendor for 30 Rupees each. This is what I did with my Opals. It allowed me to stock up on arrows during the early game when I felt like I wasn’t getting many Rupees or finding a lot of arrows.
Your other option is to use Opals as a Fuse material by dropping them on the ground and attaching them to your weapon, or by pulling out your bow and fusing them to your arrows. Precious stones in Tears of the Kingdom add elemental damage when used for Fuse. Opals in particular add Water Damage to your attacks when used as a Fuse material, as well as an additional +1 damage.
As nice as the extra damage from fusing Opals can be, I had enough other Fuse materials that weren’t worth as much to vendors that I don’t regret making the decision to sell them. Ultimately, what you do with Opals will depend on whether you want Rupees or Water Damage more.
Those are your options for using TotK Opals, but we have plenty of other topics in our Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom guide hub such as how to get and use Korok Seeds and how to defeat Hinox.
