King Dorephan in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is nowhere to be found when doing the main Zora questline. You’re going to have to find King Dorephan to complete Clues to the Sky main quest and reach the Water Temple. So where is King Dorephan’s location? Let’s find out.
TotK King Dorephan’s Location
After completing The Broken Slate, a quest called Clues to the Sky will open up. At this point, return to the Zora Domain throne room where you would’ve found Dorephan in Breath of the Wild. Here, you will find three Zora children playing that hold the secret you need to find the king’s location.
However, the scamps won’t let you just casually listen in so you need to sneak around to overhear their play session secret. I found that the easiest way to do this was to get behind the fountain throne and then crouch up to them while still in the water. As long as I was crouched was in the throne’s waters the kids had no idea I was there. The best way to get over here without getting caught is to ascend from the floor below into the area behind the throne and then climb onto it.
The Zora children will reveal that Dorephan is in the “Pristine sanctummy”, a place with clear water between Ploymus Mountain and Zora’s Domain. Further eavesdropping lets you in on the knowledge that there’s a secret entrance behind a waterfall.
TotK Pristine Sanctuary Location
The cave where Dorephan hides can be found east of Zora’s Domain — on the map you will see a series of three ascending waterfalls. Swim up the first waterfall and instead of swimming up the second one, swim through it to find the secret entrance to the Pristine Sanctuary. It is located near map coordinates (3582,0579,0171).
Walk through the cave until you reach Dorephen, who is slumped on his throne. Talk to him and he will give you 5 King’s Scale, which you will need for to complete the main quest and find the water temple.
That is where King Dorephan can be found in Tears of the Kingdom. For more tips on quests and other general help, visit out Zelda: TotK guide hub.
