Amidst the crowds at Comic Con, Nintendo had a few stations of 3DS’s set up showcasing Pokemon X & Y a few days before its release. I was able to withstand the long lines (with my +5 endurance) and was able to play a few minutes of the game.

This is the same demo that’s been out for a while but the video above has it on two larger screen for audiences to see.

The Game

I was (and still am) the biggest fan of the orignal Pokemon games. While Pokemon Red and Blue are not the greatest games in the series, they hold a special place in my gaming heart. So Pokemon X/Y has a high bar to cross. Having said that, the demo was a lot of fun. Game Freak had a great idea to give some familiar Pokemon mega evolved forms. The demo was a brief 5 minutes but the game played smoothly and did what it was supposed to: It got me giddy for the game.

Check out the video above to see me play some of the demo. Mega evolved Mewtwo was a highlight that I’m excited to see more of in the full game. I loved the demo and I’m excited to play the full version coming out on the 12th.
