Obviously the Pokémon craze is huge now that Pokémon X and Y have released; even I will be picking up the games eventually. So let’s take a look back over the years at Pokémon in all its glory.
The Beginnings
The games that introduced me to Pokémon.
Most people got their first introduction to the Pokémon franchise by way of Pokémon Red and Blue. These games were the start of the craze that is Pokémon. I remember staying up way past when I should have been asleep to try to catch all 151 Pokémon. It wasn’t until way later that I realised it was impossible to do on my own. There was also the TV series going on around this time, so between the show and the games, every kid was chattering about Pokémon.
It’s been over 15 years and Pokémon is still going strong.
Years go by new seasons of the show come out, new versions of the game come out and the fandom grows. The generations of Pokémon coming and going, we reach the sixth generation with X and Y, so that’s 626 Pokémon to capture. It’s time to relive those younger years and capture them all so you can transfer them all up to X and Y.
The Future

We know that Pokémon X and Y are the most current up to date games out, but what’s next? The anime is getting a reboot based more closely on the original Pokémon Red and Blue. There will definitely be more trading cards released for the new generation of Pokémon. More tournaments will be held for the new games, because eSports is a thing. So we can look forward to more Pokémon in the coming years.
