Turn 5 in the Binding Coil of Bahamut was thought by some to be impossible, but one free company on Excalibur (Order of the Blue Garter) has finally pulled it off. Twintania has been downed, will other companies follow the video above and be able to pull off a clear themselves?
The Binding Coil of Bahamut is the end of the line in Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn‘s current endgame, and proves to be worthy of hosting the final challenges a player can take on. Blue Garter is the first free company in the world to finish the fight — a particularly impressive achievement as most players never even make it to Turn 1, and those who often come to a stop at Turn 3.
The Blue Garter free company claims no exploits were used to clear Turn 5, and the video of their accomplishment shows it is legitimate. The post announcing the kill on the company’s website states:
As stated in the past, we believe every mechanic in this fight is working as intended. The fight isn’t over after twisters, not by any stretch of the imagination – but twisters themselves are by far the most unforgiving mechanic I think any of us have seen in any game, going back to EQ and vanilla WoW. The last phase is tuned close to perfectly. The recent hotfixes didn’t change any mechanics to be more forgiving; in fact, new bugs were added such as Hygieia not being able to Disseminate if stunned.
We fought Twintania from 100% to 0% while fully dealing with her mechanics.
This is an impressive feat, and one that will be remembered by the community for quite some time. Turn 5 can be cleared, and it just took one high-skill free company to show us that. Congratulations, Blue Garter, and great work!
