There are many useful items in Minecraft. But some of them are so rare that you’d have to spend a significant amount of time to find them. Fortunately, some of them can be crafted, although their ingredients are just as rare. Our guide will list the top 10 rarest items in Minecraft and show you how to get them.
Top 10 Rarest Items and How to Get Them in Minecraft
10. Heart Of The Sea
Heart of the Sea is arare ingredient that you can only use for crafting Conduits. I was able to find Heart of the Sea only inside buried treasure chests. You can’t craft them or find them anywhere else, which makes them truly rare.
9. Conduit
This item is especially useful, as it helps players roam underwater by attacking hostile mobs. Players can craft Conduit only with the following recipe: 8 Nautilus Shells + 1 Heart of the Sea. Both ingredients are very rare items! The Nautilus Shell has only a 3% chance of dropping from the Drowned mobs, but you could also enchant your fishing rod with Luck of the Sea and catch them in the ocean.
8. End Crystal
End Crystals are used for healing and respawning an Ender Dragon. You can find such crystals only on top of obsidian pillars on the central island of the End. You can get no more than 10 End Crystals per survival game, but you could also craft them using: 7 Glass + 1 Eye of Ender + 1 Ghast Tear.
7. Beacon
Beacons can only be crafted using a Nether Star, which drops from the Wither boss. You can place the Beacon on top of a pyramid, and it’ll provide players in the vicinity with stat bonuses to your speed, resistance, strength, etc. Once you defeat the Wither boss, you can craft a Beacon using the following recipe: 5 Glass + 1 Nether Star + 3 Obsidian.
6. Enchanted Gear
Typically, you manually enchant your armor, weapons, and tools at the anvil using various enchantments. But sometimes you can find enchanted gear inside treasure chests at ruined portals or Bastion Remnant chests. But I wouldn’t recommend this, as not only are pre-enchanted items extremely rare, but often they appear cursed. So just use enchantments to enchant your gear from Library chests, which you can find in almost every village.
5. Golden Apple
Ordinary Golden Apples are mainly used for curing zombie villagers by feeding them. You can always find a Golden Apple inside the chest in the igloo basement. I was also able to find them inside dungeons, abandoned mineshafts, desert temples, and ruined portals a few times. Also, you could craft them using: 8 Gold Ingots + 1 Apple.
4. Music Disc
Music Discs can be played in the Jukebox, and currently there are 16 different discs in Minecraft. You can craft them, find them inside chests, or get them as drops from suspicious gravel with an 8% chance. The best chance you get to find them is inside Woodland Mansion and Dungeon chests. If you decide to craft them, I’d suggest using 9 Disc Fragments, which you can find inside Ancient Cities with a much higher chance.
3. Banner Pattern
Banner Patterns are used for customizing banners inside looms. You can craft them using paper and rare items, or they can simply be found inside Bastion Remnant chests with a 10% chance. Here I list all six possible Banner Pattern crafting recipes:
- 1 Paper + 1 Enchanted Golden Apple
- 1 Paper + 1 Wither Skeleton Skull
- 1 Paper + 1 Creeper Head
- 1 Paper + 1 Oxeye Daisy
- 1 Paper + 1 Brick
- 1 Paper + 1 Vine
2. Enchanted Golden Apple
Enchanted apples can’t be crafted and appear extremely rarely, only inside treasure chests. The best chance of getting an Enchanted Golden Apple is to open chests inside Ancient Cities and Bastion Remnant structures. When consumed, it provides players with Fire Resistance, Absorption, and Regeneration effects.
1. Dragon Egg
The rarest item in Minecraft is the Dragon Egg, which is a trophy that generates only once in a game, right after you defeat an Ender Dragon. You can also use it as a decorative item, although it’s not unbreakable. However, if you try to attack it, the egg will teleport within a 30-block radius.
