Resident Evil 5 was originally released in 2009 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The title was well received as a third-person shooter featuring 2 protagonists. Gameplay supported co-op either online or via split-screen.
The HD version of the game was announced alongside newer versions of Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 6 by Capcom. No official confirmation has been provided; however, Famitsu is reporting the release date as official.
The re-release of Resident Evil 5 will feature a number of new features and improvements. The game will run at an improved frame rate and a resolution of 1080p. It will also include the DLC missions Lost in Nightmares, Desperate Escape and more. Mercenaries mode and No Mercy modes will be available as well.
With E3 approaching, an official announcement from Capcom is expected soon.
