Known as a sandbox game, Minecraft is set in a world where the player can craft their own story using the environment around them. Millions of players all over the world have made their own communities, castles, and homes using a couple of shovels and pickaxes built from the diamonds they mined themselves.
With that said, Telltale Games, the studio behind hits such as The Walking Dead and their Game of Thrones series, are using the world of Minecraft to create a episodic series that presents the fans with the same player-based choice narration as their other games. Although the game looks like Minecraft, it most likely plays like Tales From the Borderlands or The Walking Dead.
The game centers around a protagonist named Jessie and his group of friends as they set out to find The Order of the Stone before it’s too late. The story will be told throughout 5 episodes, and the journey will take you to places such as The End and The Nether.
A release date has not been given for the game yet, but Telltale Games does predict that it will launch later this year for the PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Mac, Xbox 360, Xbox One, iOS, and Android.
