Pokemon Sword and Shield introduced a number of special Gigantamax Pokemon players can’t obtain through normal gameplay. Gigantamax Toxitricity is one of them, but the latest Sword and Shield event will give us all a chance to snag one (or more if we’re lucky).
The event begins Friday, February 7 and runs for a month, ending on March 9.
Like Gigantamax Snorlax before it, Gigantamax Toxitricity undergoes a complete form change. It’s on all fours now until it attacks, and it mixes the Amped and Low-Key Forms. In true rockstar form, Gigantamax Toxitricity smashes its electric guitar to perform its attacks.
Its special attack is G-Max Stun Shock, which deals damage to opponents in addition to potentially causing paralysis or poison. Despite potentially causing the poison condition, G-Max Stun Shock is an electric attack, and all Toxitricity’s electric attacks turn into it.
As when encountering Pokemon in Max Raids, you’ll get the usual array of type-relevant TMs and TRs, along with candy hordes if you complete the battle or catch Gigantamax Toxitricity.
It’s great we get the chance to nab this rare G-Max Pokemon, and you can bet we’ll be keeping this one trained up ahead of Pokemon‘s first-ever DLC expansion, The Isle of Armor, when it releases this summer.
Whether this Pokemon can go toe-to-toe with the new mythical Pokemon getting added to the games on Pokemon Day, we’ll just have to wait and see.
Stay tuned to GameSkinny for more Pokemon Sword and Shield news as it appears.
