Far Cry 6 has been out for a little while on PC through the Ubisoft Store and the Epic Games Store (sorry, Steam users!). But you may not have picked it up yet. If you’re still on the fence, consider giving our review a read. Once you’ve decided to pick it up, you may be wondering about its PC requirements.
As far as PC requirements go, Far Cry 6 isn’t all that intensive, especially if you don’t plan to play it in 4K on max settings. Below, we’ve outlined the specs from Ubisoft that you can expect to have in order to run the game.
These requirements include everything from the baseline minimum specs up to specs for 4K. They also included those for raytracing if you have a capable rig.
Minimum Requirements
Ubisoft notes that these minimum PC requirements will get you 30fps performance. Though it’s not stated this is at 1080p, that’s likely the resolution you’ll be able to get here.
- OS: Windows 10 (20H1 version or newer, 64-bit versions)
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 3 1200 @ 3. Ghz or Intel Core i5-4460 @ 3.1 Ghz
- RAM: 8 GB (Dual-channel mode)
- GPU: AMD RX 460 (4 GB) or NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 (4 GB)
- DirectX: DirectX 12
- HDD/SSD: 60 GB
Recommended Requirements
Ubisoft notes that these recommended PC requirements will get you 60fps performance. This is also likely at 1080p.
- OS: Windows 10 (20H1 version or newer, 64-bit versions)
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600X @ 3.8 Ghz or Intel Core i7-7700 @ 3.6 Ghz
- RAM: 16 GB (Dual-channel mode)
- GPU: AMD RX Vega 64 (8 GB) or NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 (8 GB)
- DirectX: DirectX 12
- HDD/SSD: 60 GB
Recommended for 2K, 60fps with No Raytracing
These are the baseline PC specifications you’ll need to run Far Cry 6 at 2560×1440 at 60fps without raytracing enabled on your rig.
- OS: 10 (64-bit versions)
- CPU: Ryzen 5 3600X @ 3.8 Ghz or Intel Core i7-9700K @ 3.6 Ghz
- RAM: 16 GB (Dual-channel mode)
- GPU: AMD RX 5700XT (8 GB) or NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 Super (8 GB)
- DirectX: DirectX 12
- HDD/SSD: 60 GB
Recommended for 2K, 60fps with Raytracing
These are the baseline specifications you’ll need to run Far Cry 6 at 2560×1440 at 60fps with raytracing enabled. This, of course, is where you start getting into requirements for high-end builds.
- OS: Windows 10 (64-bit versions)
- CPU: Ryzen 5 5600X @ 3.7 Ghz or Intel Core i5-10600K @ 4.1 Ghz
- RAM: 16 GB (Dual-channel mode)
- GPU: AMD RX 6900XT (16 GB) or NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 (8 GB)
- DirectX: DirectX 12
- HDD/SSD: 60 GB
Recommended for 4K, 30fps with Raytracing
These are the highest of the high-end PC requirements for Ubisoft’s latest sandbox FPS. If you aren’t planning on enabling raytracing, you can likely get away with something between these requirements and those for recommended 2K and still get 30fps.
- OS: Windows 10 (64-bit versions)
