Naglfar is the hardest, most ruthless boss in Final Fantasy 15. It is often compared to Omega Weapon boss from Final Fantasy 8 both for its looks and fierceness. This boss appears during the endgame after you finish the main campaign.
But before fighting Naglfar, you will fight four other bosses. Each battle will grant you a new legendary weapon, which can be used in the fight with Omega Weapon/Naglfar. If you want to know which weapon and tactics are the best for this final boss fight, then follow our quick guide below.
How to Fight Naglfar in Final Fantasy 15
First, you must speak to Randolph — a legendary blacksmith who resides in Lestallum. He will offer you five quests, the last of which is the fight with Omega Weapon/Naglfar.
Here is the full list of quests, bosses, and weapons you will get from Randolph:
- Quest: A Legend Is Born
- Boss: Bennu
- Reward: Iron Duke (Greatsword)
- Quest: Dreadful Legend
- Boss: Malbadoom
- Reward: Dragoon Lance (Polearm)
- Quest: A Legend Wrapped in an Enigma
- Boss: Sir Tonberry
- Reward: Ziedrich (Shield)
- Quest: Cursed Legend
- Boss: Phalaris
- Reward: Soul Saber (Sword)
When you’re done with all four bosses, you will now be able to fight Naglfar as a part of the Wondrous Weapon quest.
How to Defeat Naglfar in Final Fantasy 15
This night monster appears to be covered with some sort of protective shielding, which makes him completely immune to physical attacks. However, he is weak to all kinds of elements.
You need to utilize this weakness and enchant your weaponry with such elements as Flare, Freeze, and Electon. Also, you need a weapon that can be easily thrown at Naglfar from a distance, as you don’t want to be anywhere near this powerful foe.
The best weapon for this purpose is the Star of the Rogue — a shuriken capable of dealing multiple hits in rapid succession. This weapon can be found in Myrlwood.
Lastly, since the auto-evasion feature doesn’t work with Naglfar, you will have to rely completely on manual dodging. So get as good at it as possible.
When you’re done fighting Omega Weapon/Naglfar, you will return to Randolph, who will reward you with Zwill Crossblades (Daggers).
