Redfall Multiplayer will fully support seamless single-player and multiplayer modes.

Redfall to Feature Seamless Multiplayer Vampire Hunting

Redfall Multiplayer will fully support seamless single-player and multiplayer modes.

Redfall is a highly-anticipated action-adventure game from Arkane Austin, planned for release on May 1, 2023. In the game, you are tasked with fighting against hordes of vampires in Redfall, Massachusetts. The development team has announced that players can take on the mobs alone, or as a team of up to four players.

At IGN Fan Fest, Production designer, Ben Horne, went into greater detail and discussed how Redfall’s co-op experience will cater to a player’s ability to choose how they play in the vampire-infested open world.

Horne added that Redfall remains true to the studio’s mission and focuses on the player-driven experience, much like their previous games (Deathloop, Dishonored, and Prey). Horne stated,

“We like to make games that have a rich, coherent story, systems that players can exploit and use to their advantage, maybe in some surprising ways.”

Players will be able to strategize as a team, choosing whether they want to focus on an explosive offense, or for the more careful bunch, a stealthy and cautious approach.

If you choose to play alone you will truly be alone; Meaning the game won’t provide an offline squad if you are not grouping up with friends in multiplayer mode.

Horne expanded on how the transition from single to multiplayer gameplay will feel seamless to players, and that the game will allow players to drift from their squadmates if they feel like it. However, players that stick together will be rewarded with ability buffs.
