The Witcher 3’s physical Gwent set gets delayed after issues with GameStop

CD Projekt RED released the first official expansion for their flagship RPG this week and a special boxed version of the DLC was going to carry a physical set of cards from Wild Hunt’s popular in-game card game, Gwent. Unfortunately for fans residing in North America, this Gwent set is going to be delayed for “several days after launch” according a forum post by Marcin Mormot.

Mormot cites “logistical problems” with the popular retailer, GameStop as the source of the delay, but notes that they are working to fix the problem as soon as possible. He also goes on to mention that there is a potential for the issue to be resolved within the week, but “can’t give a solid answer yet.”

While it’s unfortunate, this is simply emblematic of the realities behind releasing a product to the general public on a global scale. Sometimes, shit happens. Fortunately, CD Projekt RED is being completely upfront about the situation, and seems to be doing everything they can. Plus, it’s not like it does them any good to purposefully withhold the Gwent decks, so there’s no need for anyone to lose their minds over this.
