#10YearsOfWoW LFR isn’t quite so bad!

Spectacular performance by Restoration Shaman in soloing last 30% of Paragons of Klaxxi encounter in 25m LFR.
This article is over 9 years old and may contain outdated information

Out of all of my WoW experiences, and I have been playing since middle school ( I am graduating university this year), I chose to talk about a more recent one…my experience in the Siege of Orgrimmar, Looking For Raid (LFR) specifically. Many people have had terrible experiences with LFR, me included. However, this run was surprisingly spectacular. We had a generally well behaved group that did not have terrifically geared players, but those that were well enough geared to be able to down the content. There was no name-calling, rudeness, or LEEEERRROOYYY Jenkins-ing.

The interesting bit came during the Paragons fight. We were down to the last Paragon and most of us had died, leaving just a few of the dps and a shaman healer, with the last Paragon at around 30% health. All of the dps died shortly after, from the sonic beam ability of the boss, but the restoration shaman kept running in circles, avoiding the beam, while casting his flame shock and lighning bolts. It came to a point that the entire raid (all dead but the shaman) were at first calling for him to wipe, but eventually, once the boss hit 20% we all cheered him on, and prayed for him not to make a mistake.

Regardless of the fact that the boss had berserked, the shaman stayed calm. It was a moment in wow that I will never forget because of the comradery that this group had. I have spent years raiding with tight knit groups on both horde and alliance, and have never seen anything like it! The shaman persevered, and we all were ecstatic. I instantly sent him a friend request and started whispering him about the experience. We were all shocked (as was he), that a single healer could maintain his cool and succeed in such a feat! A true legendary moment that day.

I have made many friends in WoW, some of which I raided with, others just questing, or talking about where we each found our transmogrification items. Now I finally convinced my girlfriend to give WoW a go, and we will be venturing into Draenor together. Not only has WoW boosted my happiness, but it provided me with a multitude of legendary stories to share, bask in, and embrace! I hope it can do the same for all of you Azerothians as well.
