Hello,
For the sake of anonimity, my name is C. I am a 19 year old guy currently going to college. For this contest, i would like to share the story of how World of Warcraft kept me and my brother, G(22 Years old), off the streets.
We grew up in a pretty dangerous neighborhood. When we were kids, we would always hang out with the other kids on the block and play games outside. We usually either played Dodgeball, softball, or ding-dong-ditch(we weren’t very civilized kids). As we grew up, we would hang out more more, until around middle school, when we were introduced to WoW.
My brother and i started playing around the time i was in Middle School(6th grade i believe), and man, this game was like a gold mine for us. We never knew we were the type of people who would play RPG’s, and love it! We played right when we got home from school, till right when we had to go to bed. We only had one computer, so we would usually argue to get to play, and the other would just spectate. The more we played, the less we hung out with our buddies from the block, and we just progressively played more and more.
After a while, we straight up just stopped hanging out with our neighbors, and this is what saved us from having a terrible life. My brother and I found out that our friends have been…”experimenting”. They started doing illegal things and consuming illegal things. One of them later on got into trouble with the police. If it wasn’t for WoW, we would still be hanging around these people, making bad choices, and doing nothing with our lives. Like i said earlier, im currently in college, and my brother is married, and none of that would happen if we never played WoW. I personally thank WoW for making me and my brother into the men we are today.
