Let’s just dive in with the much anticipated PlayStation 4.
#PS4 Officially Announced (And Twitter Goes Crazy)
Seven years in the making, we admit the PlayStation 4 looks rather impressive. It also reminds us that rumors aren’t always true. With on- and offline gaming, used game compatibility, awesome opening titles, amazing graphics and more, Sony really hit the nail on the head.
We’re still very curious to see how the PS4 price will impact sales – but if Sony keeps their word, cost shouldn’t be an issue.

What’s the preferred hashtag for tonight? #PS4? #Sony2013? #nerdfestnyc?? 😉

IGN Layoffs – UGO, 1UP and GameSpy Closing Shop
Amid all the hype around the PS4, it was sobering and sad to hear that iconic gaming sites UGO, 1UP and GameSpy are shutting their doors. Along with the rest of the Twitterverse, we send our condolences to everyone affected by the layoffs.
Sorry to hear about friends being let go from UGO/1UP/IGN today. Sigh. Hang in there and let me know if I can help in any way.

Calling All G.I.R.L.s (Gamers in Real Life)
What does the world need? More female video game developers! We’re huge #WomenInGames advocates, and we’re loving Sony Online Entertainment’s G.I.R.L. (Gamers in Real Life) scholarship opportunity. If you know any budding female developers, encourage them to apply…
Accepting submissions until March 29th, SOE created G.I.R.L. as encouragement for students to choose career paths in the creative and applied arts, with the ultimate goal of developing video games more geared toward women. The winner will receive a $10,000 scholarship and an internship at SOE’s headquarters in San Diego.
Think we missed something?
