Meet Chiuna.
Sure, she looks gorgeous now, but it was quite the journey to put this look together. It has been almost a year since that fateful moment at dusk when the pale tree first awakened Chiuna. Like many adventurers, Chiuna was called to cleanse Orr and defeat an elder dragon. So she did.
It was nice, having saved the world. Chiuna quickly adjusted to the life of a retired hero – amusing herself by playing with Wintersday toys.
But then, one day, everything changed. She heard tales of a special weapon. A Legendary weapon. As if she was on another Wyld Hunt, Chiuna was drawn towards The Bifrost. With its ivory carvings and subtle rainbows, she knew her look would not be complete until she got it. So she started to work towards her goal, exploring up to the remote edges of Tyria. The further she went from Lion’s Arch, the more often she would return through a mysterious place called the Heart of the Mists. The mists were a strange place, but there was a tree growing there, which Chiuna found to be a comforting reminder of home every time she passed by it.
When Chiuna had explored the whole world she felt relieved. She had saved up many materials collected from monsters along the way and the rare treasures she had found provied many globs of ectoplasm for her to offer Zommoros in exchange for clovers. But then, things started to go wrong. Chiuna discovered that in order to make her legendary staff, she would first need to obtain another staff called The Legend. She offered countless rares to Zommoros, but he refused to give it to her! So she started seeking out lesser dragons in the world, hoping that they might be guarding The Legend in their treasure chests. Months passed by, but Chiuna seemed to be no closer to her goal – there was no sign of The Legend. She began to feel dark and vengeful.
She turned to some of her contacts at the Priory – searching for information about any powerful source of magic that might help her get The Legend. She stumbled across rumors of The Unseen Ones. Research became obsession. Day and night she studied the mursaat, eventually taking on their look as her own. Could these ancient creatures help her?
The answer seemed to be no. Instead, she turned to her sisters, and they too begain to help her on her quest. First to help was The Sapphire Sword.
Sapphrie ventured into Fractals of the Mists – a strange Asuran experiment gone wrong. Sapphrie found many rare items, but could not find The Legend. So she asked Cateljine to help.
Being an asura and a mesmer, Catelijne was well-suited for adventuring through jumping puzzles. Her small stature made it easy to see around rocky obsticles, and her mastery of portals came in handy on more than one occassion. But she too came up empty-handed. Next to help was The Coral Fang.
Coral might look a bit emotional, but don’t let that fool you. Her dark magic wreaked havoc on the nightmares within Twilight Arbor. But finding no exotic staves, she asked for help from Sold Contradiction.
Sold is a bit of an odd leader, with her bold outfit and constant miniature moa companion. But strange or not, she has ventured past some mighty foes in Arah in her search for The Legend. After defeating Lupi multiple times to be sure he didn’t have it, Sold recruited Mechanical Ember for the cause.
Mechanical Ember likes to be inventive. But like any inventor, she never seemed to have enough time to finish her creations – that is, until she mastered the Time Warp. She used her newfound speed to hurry things along in the Citadel of Flame. ‘Things’ here mostly being the amount of gold collected! Although there was a good amount of gold to be discovered, it quickly became apparent that the Citadel of Flame didn’t have The Legend either. So Digital Dogwood was called in to help.
You can probably already guess where Dogwood went to look: inside Moto’s invention. Dogwood found many weapons to use, and even a new backpack to carry them in, but there was no Legend in there either. Finally came ranger Criacia, along with her attack-bears!
Criacia’s sleuth of bears took down the shadow behemoth, and even discovered an exotic staff! But it was called Final Rest, not The Legend. Criacia gave it to Chiuna anyway, just in case.
Praying to The Six, The Norn Spirits, and anybody else who would listen, Chiuna offered Zommoros Final Rest along with three other exotic staves. What she got back was… Delusion. Really. That was the staff’s name. Sighing, Chiuna took the 600 gold she and her sisters had saved to the trading post and bought her Legend that way.
Her journey was not quite over yet – she still had another 100g to save up for Icy Runestones. But the hardest part was finally done, and with a bit more effort, the rest was completed as well. As she wielded The Bifrost, she felt a surge of electricity.
She had done it. Her journey was complete. All that was left now was to enjoy looking good!
Along with The Bifrost, Chiuna is wearing:
