There have been some truly amazing things crafted in games like Minecraft and Terraria that simply make you wonder how a person has the patience to mine and place blocks for hours.
The video above is an example of one such labor of love: a 180-block diameter re-creation of the Death Star in the PlayStation 3 version of Terraria by one dedicated player.
The video itself is just under 10 minutes long but moves in hyper-speed as he lays and removes tiles while fighting off hordes of harpies in his quest to create a believable Death Star to call his own.
According to the YouTube video description he used just under 24,000 blocks at a cost of 5 platinum coins. Which blocks did he use?
- 544 glass
- 6,825 stone blocks
- 4,048 ash blocks
- 3,871 silver bricks
- 3,936 active stone blocks
- 4,740 inactive stone blocks
It’s hard to imagine pulling this off with the PC version of the game, much less with the console port. It takes more than a little perseverance to pull off a task like this!
