Welcome to the first GameSkinny News Roundup.

This new weekly feature will highlight 5 articles from the previous week, with the aim to simply bring them to the attention of those who may have missed importent or interesting updates due to the ever-increasing influx of games news, reviews, and more.

There will usually be 1 article from each of the following categories; News, Review, Guide, Interview, and Culture. Some nice, light reading at the end of the week.

The First of Five

First up we have the DOTA 2 news, reported on by Danielle, where a girlfriend gives away over 500 digital items of her boyfriends because he wasn’t spending enough time with her. How did she pull off that stunt?

“His girlfriend created an event on popular social media site, Facebook, to legitimize her generous dispensing of her significant other’s belongings.”

Sniping, Elite

Next we have the review for Sniper Elite 3, which Unepitaphed gave a 7 out of 10. Here is what he had to say about the Nazi-Killer Simulator:

“Aside from the bugs Sniper Elite 3 is a good game, the survival mode is really fun too. If the game seems too easy for you, you can always crank up the difficulty. I played on Marksman (Normal) and plowed through the game with very little issues. If you want an epic story, and ground breaking game play then you might want to stay clear of Sniper Elite 3. Just make sure you buy this game for next-gen consoles, playing on the 360 or the PS3 is disappointing.”

Stop, Natter Time

We all love a good natter, chinwag, exchanging of air, I more than most. So, when I got the chance to sit down with Jesús Arribas, Director of Spanish studio Numantian Games, we didn’t talk about the World Cup, we spoke about Lords of Xulima.

[Jesús] “Mass EffectDragon Age….? Not really, although all of them are RPGs (or action RPGs), they don’t share any similarities withLords of Xulima. Perhaps only the third person view in Dragon Age if you play it with the camera in isometric view. “

No Need to Dig Anything but the Colours

I like colour coordination; matching my clothing to the items that the character is wearing in the game I am playing. Well, if you do like to do that, as I do, then check out this nifty guide to how-to access huge array of colourful armours in Shovel Knight.

The guide has been crafted and sourced by Ashley, many wings were given by Red Bull during the process. To check out the guide, which also includes codes for large, giant, and bubble sprites, then hit this link with your shovel.

2014 – Year of the Game Delay

Danielle is back again, this time with an informative article that documents all the AAA delays of 2014. She also provides us with highlights of delays from the past decade, including Halo 2, GTA 4, Tomb Raider, and more.

Included in the article is an amazingly detailed infographic, which I urge you all to check out.

Now, if you will excuse me, I must return to Divinity: Original Sin. Anyone know where I can find the blastered feline collar?
