The Grand Theft Auto series has once again proven that a little controversy is a good thing. Risky themes throughout the game, or series for that matter, have intrigued player interests and pushed the limits on what games can and can not portray.

Themes such as hatred, crime, and murder are what made GTA soar to the top of the video game market and stay there for the past 15 years. Show me the money!

Grand Theft Auto 5 has brought us controversy, fun and some small problems with gameplay all in the few days since its release. Overall it has been a very successful release and to prove it Take-Two’s internal estimates have calculated that the game made an impressive $800 million on day one. Those figures are only factoring sales in North America and Europe and once Japan and Brazil get to their release date those numbers will just continue to rise.  Rockstar Games should be proud of those numbers and I tip my hat to them for such an accomplishment.

Grand Theft Auto 5 is out now for North America and Europe. Have you gotten a copy? What do you think of the game so far?
