I am Not a Number. I am a Free Man!
I will start off saying I am not really good at talking about myself. I am a a riddle, wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma. I am a lone wolf. I am a guy with a computer.
Ladies, contain your orgasms.
If you ask my about how my day was, I’ll reply with one word answers. It is just how I am. When I see these other intern articles talking about how cool it was or how excited they were, I feel like I am surrounded by Care Bears.
At least it’s not My Little Pony.
Yeah, I can write thousand word articles in a few hours no sweat, but asking me to talk about myself is an intimidating and akin to asking Gabe Newell to tell us when Half-Life 3 is going to be released.
Damn your beautiful face.
So now that the unnecessary jokes and boring exposition is out of the way, let’s get down to what this internship was all about
Scene opens. It is 2 A.M. A handsome man hovers over his laptop in a dark room.
So there I am browsing Reddit in the early morning hours. I stumble over to r/internships because, hey, it’s 2 AM what else am I going to do.
There the post lies, like a beautiful little flower in a field of boring IT, and data entry positions.
I quickly email Katy Hollingsworth and before I know it, I have secured a coveted position with Alpha Team as a writer.
Today, still wanted by the government, they survive as soldiers of fortune. If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them, maybe you can hire the A-Team.
Our crack commando team comprises of our fearless leader Raven, two editors Jay and Ashley, and Reilly joining me on the writing squad.
Although Ashley is leaving us for greener pastures, we will never forget her blatant disregard for our feelings and Nazi-esque standards of editing.
We each brought different strengths to the table, and our brainstorming sessions help create unarguably better articles. I brought charming wit, dashing looks, timeless class, and unwavering sense of humility.

Since we did not have a social media team member to help aggregate views, we worked together to share our pieces across a variety of different social media forums. As cheesy as it sounds, we really came together and formed a… family*.
*Family in the loosest, most twisted version of the word. Family like the Mansons were a family.
Our slave driver Editor, Katy assigned us breaking news topics to cover throughout the day, but for the most part we were free to write about anything that tickled our fancy.
At first that freedom was intimidating. I mean, what do you pick when you have the entire gaming world to choose from? But you know what? It was easy; you just write what you love doing.
If you take a look at my posts, you see that they vary widely. Some are super serious opinion pieces about breaking news, while others are just silly articles recounting previous failed relationships.
And you know what? This has been a blast. I forgot how much I loved to write, and combining my love for video games is a marriage made in Lui Heaven™.
Lui Hell™ is where I spend eternity waiting for Half- Life 3… wait…
I am so glad I did this. I don’t know what compelled me to search for an internship that night, but that moment of serendipity has lead me to a truly exciting opportunity that has not only pushed my writing abilities, but actually rewarded me for writing well.
You heard me. With GameSkinny rewards I earned from writing, I have been able to buy games such as Dead Space 3, Dark Souls, and Dark Siders. Basically I am getting rewarded for doing what I love by playing what I love.
As we go onto the Bastion Phase, we mourn members who fell in the deadline push and welcome the green recruits. Think you have what it takes? Apply and man a station!
