Released November 26, 2006 by Sohmer and illustrator Lar DeSouza, Looking for Group is described as a “fantasy-themed Canadian web comic.” It is the story of an adventuring party and focuses primarily on two very unlikely companions: Cale’Anon, an elven hunter, and Richard, an undead warlock. One of the main sources of comedy in the series is the conflict between Cale’Anon wanting to do what is right, and Richard along with the rest of the party less concerned with the morality of their actions.

Looking for Group is an entertaining and funny story filled with references that any gamer familiar with the fantasy genre can relate to. The comic might particularly appeal to fans of tabletop RPGs like Dungeons & Dragons, but also to fans of World of Warcraft.  Of course, there are also plenty of modern references and funny lines that any reader can enjoy.

Since its initial release in 2006 the comic’s fanbase has conitinued to grow. People have shown their love for Looking for Group and it’s characters through art, cosplay, and other creative projects. The popularity of the comic garned it a few awards, including the Joe Shuster Award for Outstanding Canadian Web Comic in 2008, and the Prix Aurora Award for Artistic Achievement in 2009.
