Microsoft is working with payment processor BitPay to get Bitcoin on Xbox and Windows platforms. This will make it easier to buy games with Bitcoin.
You are now able to exchange Bitcoin for Microsoft Account funds, letting you purchase games, and any other content Microsoft offer for Windows, Windows Phone and Xbox platforms.
Make sure you take less than 15 minuites.
In a statement on the Microsoft Fire House Blog, Eric Lockard, corporate vice president of Universal Store at Microsoft said:
“For us, this is about giving people options and helping them do more on their devices and in the cloud, The use of digital currencies such as bitcoin, while not yet mainstream, is growing beyond the early enthusiasts. We expect this growth to continue and allowing people to use bitcoin to purchase our products and services now allows us to be at the front edge of that trend.”
Microsoft is limiting the amount of Bitcoin you can convert at up to $1,000, or equivalent in your local currency, for each day.
Microsoft is also limiting what you can purchase with Bitcoin to Xbox Games, Xbox Music or Xbox Video on the Windows, Windows Phone and Xbox platforms.
If you are in the US you can start using Bitcoin to purchase now, other countries will hopefully be coming shortly.
