With some controversial discussions and next-gen console rumors galore, it’s been another busy week here at GameSkinny. In our last recap, all eyes were on Wii U, but now it’s the Xbox 720 that’s in the hot seat…
Can the Pentagon’s Decisions Impact Gaming?
The portrayal of women in video games always makes for lively discussion, but the Pentagon’s recent decision to allow real-life women in combat adds a new twist. We can’t help but wonder how games such as Call of Duty and Halo will be affected. The Associated Press’ Derrik J. Lang thinks video games are likely to follow the Pentagon’s lead and build out more women as main characters. We’ll see!

Rumor Alert: Xbox 720
Word travels faster than Sonic in the gaming world, so when former Microsoft executive Joachim Kempin leaked some information about the next-gen version of Xbox this week, the news spread like wildfire on Twitter. Unfortunately, with rumors that Xbox 720 will block second hand gaming and always be connected to the internet, the Twitterverse remains unhappy – and we can’t blame them!
The more I hear about Xbox720 the less I want it. Get out of here future video games. #gamegrump

Xbox720 wont be backwards compatible. Kinda narrows their market a bit in my opinion.

#xbox720 seriously not allowing used games is a bad move!

If the #xbox720 used game rumor is true I won’t be wasting my money. Too many faults to the one-time-use system. Will be the death of gaming

#GameSkinny’s Brian isn’t too excited about a few rumored features of the next-gen @xbox. Here’s why: buff.ly/14FLBKI #Xbox720
