Despite the volume of con-goers, PAX should perhaps invest in a better wireless connection. We have merchandisers, thousands of gamers, and the rest of the lot paying hard earned money and I believe we can all say that a decent connection would be just the cherry on top. I have no doubts that they are trying hard, but even here, at the GameSkinny booth (A booth that requires a stable connection, I might add.) attendees are finding a connection that is a bit lack-luster and capricious.
On the Plus Side, the Staff is Awesome
Even though the connections are troublesome, we have courteous staff helping to solve all the problems as speedily as they can; I even had the chance to see a computer wizard in action. But friendly staff should really be given more valuable assets to their wireless dependent booth.
I, myself, am a wireless de-connection victim.
My first article was about the amazing and intimidating environment that is PAX East, but once I was booted from the connection (And lost all my data), it changed into a lengthy article about how PAX East, or the convention center, might invest in better internet.
And even if it isn’t their fault, perhaps wireless companies should invest an even better internet and go above and beyond, especially when they see an event as huge as this going on. It would be good for them from a business stand-point, seeing as we all use the internet, and they would make a crowd happy and have a zillion new potential customers.
And us, as customers at PAX, some from near and some from far (Like myself, who needs a stable connection to keep in contact with anyone without spending a fortune.) deserve only the best of connections.
