SOE, What Do You Mean to Me?
I have played my fair share of online PC SOE games from early on in my gaming life. One of my biggest MMORPG influences was Everquest 2. Although it sounds like a stretch, everyone in my family was an avid player whether it was raiding at 2 AM on a Friday night or putting together the final room in the guild hall of one of the top dungeon clearing guilds on the server. The twist? I didn’t have any cousins or siblings. I was ushered into the gaming world fast and hard, starting up Everquest 1, when I was only 6 years of age and since then I have been engaged in gaming. However, I have never been able to put down Everquest 2, which I believe is SOE’s greatest online achievement. Sure, there was Vanguard which I played avidly for a period of time with my family as well, but it just felt lacking. To this day I play Everquest 2 and I am happy to say I have pinpointed incredible points of company and game evolution.
So Why Do I Belong At SOE’s Big Event As A Correspondent?
Well, not only have I had immense experience with SOE games, specifically in the fantasty-medieval MMORPG genre; but I also have experience in game production and development. I provide the perfect package of experience, between development, providing technical information for all of the code heads out there, and design, as well as top-down game mechanic information. I am able to draw enticing parallels between previous games and explore the evolution of the company and the games they have influenced. I can do all this and more with an exciting and sometimes humorously sarcastic tone that provides all of the right information in a way people want to read about.
