A while back I had a few of my friends buzzing about Bastion. I’d heard of it, seen screenshots and videos, but the game never seemed too special to me. I mean yeah, it looked nice, and hitting stuff look alright. But I never understood what truly made the game so special to have all my friends flipping out whenever I mentioned I hadn’t played it yet. Fast forward a few months, and a Steam sale dropped onto my lap, giving me a chance to try it out. I walked away having played an amazing game with satisfyingly deep combat, a gorgeous art style, and some of the best sound work I’ve heard in a long time.

And Now, There’s Transistor

Transistor is shaping up to be another solid game from Supergiant. There is so much for me to like from the trailer alone. The gorgeous and colorful noir art style, the crazy robotic enemies, and the musical focus with the main character being a gorgeous singer. The sword, the enemies types, and what little story elements have been dropped are making me ask all kinds of questions about the game, and I can’t wait to have them answered. Transistor has a release date set for Early 2014, and I’m anxious as heck to get my hands on it!
