Weekly Weekend Round-Up: Jan. 23rd- Jan 25th

Games to play as this weekend goes by.
This article is over 9 years old and may contain outdated information

With another five days of work behind most of us, we’ve got two days and three nights to do what we want. So let’s look at a few older games that could help us pass the time this weekend.

The Witcher 2 – Xbox 360 Games with Gold

The Witcher 2 blew me away when I played through it. This game was an impulse buy, and I didn’t have any expectations when going into it. The environments, character design, and game depth enthralled me. I played so much of this game that it almost became an addiction. Now this amazing game can be downloaded for free with the GwG program on the Xbox 360. Even if you don’t have a Gold membership, you should be able to find a cheap copy for your platform of choice.

The Crew – Steam

The Crew already made the Round-up back when it was a new release. However, right now it’s on sale for Steam users. It can be picked up for $40. For those of us that enjoy a racing game or driving from coast to coast, this game offers just that. The graphics for this game look amazing, and it’s a great price for a game that has only been out a short time.

Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition – Wii U $5.99

Guacamelee is an amazing Metroidvania-style game. If you’ve ever wondered what it would be like to run around as a Luchador, here is your chance to find out – well sort of. This game doesn’t really put you in the first person perspective of a Luchador, but it’s still fun and requires plenty of exploration.

This list contains two games that rank among my favorites plays, and I wouldn’t mind playing through them again – if I didn’t have such a massive backlog of games to get through. As we approach new releases for this year, my backlog will grow – and yours might too. So snag these games at a good price and put what time you can into them.
