Why I’m Excited About Saints Row IV

Made with 124,800 cans of soda, Saints Row IV is ready to rock your socks off.
This article is over 11 years old and may contain outdated information

If you're on the fence about how awesome Saints Row IV will be, then let me help you. You should be pumped.

If you were a fan of the franchise's previous offerings, then it shouldn't even be a question. Saints Row IV looks like the natural continuation of everything that was awesome about Saints Row the Third.

And if you're not familiar with the franchise, think the sandbox stylings of such crime games as GTA, combined with dildo bats.

Saints Row IV  will not just feature the romantic city of Steelport, but will be expanding to include Washington, DC, the Middle East, and most importantly space.

Saints in SPACE.

I'm not sure about anti-gravity, but I have heard word of aliens, and really with all of the insanity that is the Saints Row franchise, I can't imagine them doing anything else for their allegedly final installment.

One of the more lauded aspect of the franchises last offering was the ability to customize your character to your hearts content.

Looking for a six-foot-tall overweight Asian woman with a scar across her chest who talks like a man? Why not.

Saints Row IV will feature 7 total voice options, male or female. These options will include French, Southern, British and Nolan North accents. The game itself features a staggering 186 voice actors.

For your physical customization, you have 55 different skin colors, 28 facial hair options, 220 tattoo/location combinations, and 600 clothing options.

You could have a purple beehive. On your French man. It's really up to you.

If you're the kind of person who liked Borderlands 2 because of all of the gun options, then Saints Row IV would like to talk to you.

True, the game features a measly 30 weapons. But with those weapons there are approximately 450 upgrades (probably more once the mod community gets their hands on it), as well as 111 different weapon costumes and skins.

As the developers say, "for the first time you can completely customize how your gun looks without sacrificing the way it shoots."

Are you a completionist who slaved away trying to find every Riddler trophy in Arkham Asylum?

Saints Row IV has 1600+ collectibles. Over 1600. That is sure to sate all of your collecting dreams.

There are also 118 open world objectives, and 50 different ranked activity instances including things called Death Tag and Super Powered Fight Club.

Both of which sound awesome.

Seriously, are you not pumped for Saints Row IV? Because you should be.
