You Need to be Listening to Super Soul Bros.

Drop whatever you're doing and listen to Super Soul Bros. right now.
This article is over 10 years old and may contain outdated information

Super Soul Bros. is a video game cover band that I first heard at PAX East 2013, and then again at PAX East 2014 back in April. I was walking past the Fangamer booth when I heard something so magnificent that I decided to go investigate. I saw two badass dudes, one on keyboard, Robbie Benson, and one on the melodica, Mike Choi. I couldn’t stop listening, or smiling for that matter.

Their biography on Facebook reads:

“A fusion of jazz/funk/R&B, this powerhouse of musicians takes video game music to a whole new level.”

Their most recent album, Live at San Pedro Sq., features covers of popular themes from Rainbow Road, Donkey Kong Country, Green Hill Zone, and many more. Personally, I think they should have done the music for Mario Kart 8. Anyway, my point is that these guys are awesome, and anyone who enjoys video game music should check them out immediately. You won’t be disappointed.
