Guild Wars 2 Daily Slay: LFG?

The New LFG video in Guild Wars 2 is amazing, but you can't have it.
This article is over 11 years old and may contain outdated information

It’s Patch Day! Everyone who plays Guild Wars 2 should get out their bug nets and put on their wings of the sunless because things are going to be difficult and new today. Things are mostly better, though. Tequatl is now a challenge (impossible?) and the friends screen (Y) has a nifty new feature. Evan Zynda and Ben Newell gave a preview of the LFG tool that was added to Guild Wars 2 today to help certain players group up in certain situations

The Restrictions

There are only a very small group of players who can actually use the LFG tool. ArenaNet, the developers of Guild Wars 2, are calling this a beta. It’s a massive shame that it’s taken a year to roll out and an even bigger tragedy that the developers are teasing us by “releasing” the tool without letting most people using it. If you are not one of the lucky few then everything that follows is irrelevant for at least the immediate future.

The Perks

The LFG tool is absolutely amazing. It advertises to players on all maps and servers about dungeons, fractals, PVP, personal story or open world events you want to do. It’s easy to get access to with a single hotkey or on any dungeon NPC and others can view your party as easily as you could see yours. Guild members and friends are highlighted on the LFG tool for easy group-making. They’ve really thought about controlling trolling by rate-limiting and reporting. They’ve even made it easy to understand the different reasons you can or can not join a group. You want this tool. You can’t have it, though.
