Far Cry 6 Hunting Outfit: How to Get the Animal Set

Up your hunting game with this Hunting Outfit. Here's how to get the animal set from the hunting lodge guerilla camp upgrade.

Ever since it was tied to upgrades in FC3, hunting has been a huge part of Ubisoft’s open-world franchise. And though these side-missions aren’t as important in the latest installment as they once were, that doesn’t mean you should skip the activity entirely. To make the most of your efforts, you’ll need the Far Cry 6 hunting outfit: the Animal Set.

Upgrading and crafting require materials and components. Sometimes the easiest way to find them is by trading meat supplies at any of the workbenches around Yara. To be best equipped for hunting some of the most elusive and legendary animals down, the Animal Set outfit will turn you into a hunting machine.

Where to Find the Animal Set Hunting Outfit in Far Cry 6

Build the Hunting Lodge Guerilla Camp Upgrade

The hunting lodge camp upgrade.

The Hunting Lodge can be constructed at one of the three base camps across Yara in Madrugada, Valle de Oro, and El Este. You’ll need medicine and metal to build this facility upgrade at the Construction Desk.

Once you have it, you have predator animal Hunting Spots marked around the Far Cry 6 map, get the Ciervo Macho unique hunting shotgun, and have the ability to gain extra meat from animal carcasses.

Most importantly, it unlocks the Animal Set for you to buy. However, you won’t need your usual crafting components or pesos for this one. Instead, you’ll need specific animal skins and pelts to purchase each of the five armor pieces:

  • Primal Mask headgear (MamuTito’s Tusks)
  • Primal Vest chest gear (Venodiente Leather)
  • Primal Pants leg gear (Sanguinario Pelt)
  • Primal Bracer wrist gear (White Demoniaco Pelt)
  • Primal Boots foot gear (Black Demoniaco Pelt)

Primal Mask: Where to Find MamuTito’s Tusks

Mamutito's map location.

The Primal Mask has the Predator Sense ability, which tags nearby animals. To purchase the mask, you will need Mamutito’s Tusks.

You can start Mamutito’s hunt in the town of Armonia in northern Quito, east of Prado Meadows. Approach the bar by the dock (the one where you first meet Juan and Guapo).

Here you will find a notice pleading with you to kill the boar. From there, you can travel north of the town to the marked location.

You can find Mamutito below in a dipped ridge. But beware: they are surrounded by other boar and can be a proper task to defeat. Once you have defeat Mamutito — I used an RPG — Mamutito’s tusks are collected automatically.

Primal Vest: Where to Find Venodiente Leather

Primal Vest.

Venodiente crocodile map location.

The Primal Vest has the Animal Detection Reduction perk, which really just does what it says on the tin. You can get far closer to animals now before they either attack or run away.

To unlock this piece of the Animal Set you’ll need Venodiente Leather, which is acquired by killing the Venodiente crocodile

Head north of Libertad Island to Balaceras, west of Cienaga Nublada National Park on the map. If you have managed to pick up the location for this animal already, it will come up as Hazardous Waste Disposal.

Venodiente is one of the hardest enemies to defeat, as he is both a giant crocodile and puffs out poison, which deals damage if you breathe it in (wear the Hazmat Suit or Hazmat headgear for protection).

The croc is also surrounded by other crocodiles, so you may want to try and focus on them first. Once you manage to defeat Venodiente, you will be given their leather.

Primal Pants: Where to Find the Sanguinario Pelt

Primal pants.

The Primal Pants has the Big Quiver perk, which improves your arrow reserves. To unlock these, you’ll need the Sanguinario Pelt.

You’ll find this pelt near the location marked on the map above, on the southern coast of Sierra Perdida, Vacia Coast in El Este. But you’ll have to wait until night to get it.

When you arrive at the location, walk to the end of the dock and bring out your fishing rod. Almost as soon as do, you’ll hear the Jaguar approach.

This jaguar is a beast and comes with an entourage, so make sure you are well stocked for a fight. Shotguns and machine guns are the way to go for this one.

Primal Bracers, Primal Boots: Where to Find the White and Black Demoniaco Pelts

Perros Demoniacos map location.

The Primal Bracers have the Big-Game Carver ability, which improves the amount of animal meat you scavenge, and the Primal Boots have the Swift Predator perk, which greatly improves your speed after killing an animal.

The last two gear pieces that make up the Animal Set can be acquired at the same time. For both the Primal Bracers and Primal Boots you will need the White and Black Demoniaco Pelts. Both can be found in the location marked above, just south of Ida’s Refuge in northern Aguas Lindas. You’ll come here as part of the Triada Relics treasure hunt.

This is the only fight with two targets, so keep your head on a swivel. Each of the Demoniaco Wolves can self-revive, so be sure to confirm your kill before they come back with snapping jaws.
