Xbox One is set for a February update soon, but a March update is in the planning.
This article is over 10 years old and may contain outdated information

Since the February Xbox One update is set to release this week, Microsoft is already giving out details for next month’s update. Among the list of many things that could be improved, they’re working on the friend’s list and ‘party’ options.

  • Faster Friends List: You’ll be able to access the friends list much easier once it’s on the homepage of the Friends App. To make gameplay more easier, from there you’ll get to send messages and join games together. Talk about being efficient.
  • Party Chat Automatically On: When a party is made, the chat audio will be turned on by default.
  • Chatting With Friends Who Are Playing Different Games: The party chat will be separate from the people playing within your game. You’ll have the option of either chatting with a friend online or the people in the game.
  • An Invite Friends To Game Option: The option will be shown inside a game’s menu, making it much more convenient to invite your friends to play games with you. This is very similar to the Xbox 360 approach.
  • Easier Way To Add Friends: A ‘recent players’ menu will show that gives a list of online players you’ve had games with. You can then add them as friends from this list, so you can continue playing games with them.
When will this March update happen?

The update currently doesn’t have a deadline or release date, but it is expected to happen before the launch of Titanfall on March 11th.

How do you feel about this Xbox One update? What would you like to see?
