XDefiant, a new ambitious first-person shooter from Ubisoft, isn’t out just yet, but it’s in open beta, and it’s not as hard to get into as was the case with the closed beta. Getting into the XDefiant open beta isn’t too tough, and we’ll go over how to do just that here.

How to Play XDefiant Open Beta

Players on different platforms will have to follow slightly different paths if they want to play the XDefiant open beta. Console players will have an easier time, while PC players will have to install and register the Ubisoft Connect app if they haven’t done so yet.

Play XDefiant Open Beta on PS5, Xbox Series X|S

  1. Go to Xbox store or PS store on your console.
  2. Search for XDefiant game.
  3. Download 28 GB of data.
  4. Install the game and play right away.

Play XDefiant Open Beta on PC

  1. Download and install Ubisoft Connect app.
  2. Register a new account using your e-mail and password.
  3. Search for XDefiant game.
  4. Download and install 28 GB of data.
  5. Launch the game and play right away.

If you want to invite friends via crossplay on a console, you’ll also have to install the Ubisoft Connect app via the game’s main menu, as that’s the only way you can invite friends to play on your team.
