If you redeemed the Doctor during this time, you likely tested out his follow-up attack-focused kit. Dr. Ratio follows the path of The Hunt, making him a single-target damage dealer who specializes in decimating most bosses. To help you dominate some of Honkai: Star Rail’s hardest content, we compiled the best Light Cones, relic sets, traces, and team comps for Dr. Ratio.

As a DPS character, Dr. Ratio’s best Light Cones are going to enhance his ATK or CRIT DMG/Rate to help him dish out more damage. Naturally, a lot of Hunt Light Cones will offer these stats and effects, although some work well with his kit — particularly his follow-up attack.

General Stats

Going for SPD stats on relics is going to be important for Dr. Ratio, as the more SPD he has built, the more opportunities he’ll get to attack. There are a few speed breakpoints you can go for to maximize how many turns he’ll get, but 134 SPD is a great minimum since this will allow him to go twice during the first cycle of a battle.

Once you’ve hit your desired SPD, your next priority should be stacking as much CRIT DMG/Rate on Dr. Ratio to maximize his DMG. His Traces give him extra CRIT DMG/Rate to help with his damage output, but stacking even more on him will increase his potential. Generally, you want to maintain a 1:2 ratio of CRIT Rate to CRIT DMG for consistent damage. Once you’ve hit your desired CRIT ratio, you can go for ATK% to give him an extra damage boost.

Here are the main stats you want to aim for on all of Dr. Ratio’s relic pieces:

  • Body: CRIT DMG/Rate (Aim for a 1:2 ratio of CRIT Rate to CRIT DMG)
  • Feet: Speed
  • Planar Sphere: Imaginary DMG
  • Link Rope: ATK%

Dr. Ratio Trace Priorities

When you’re leveling up Dr. Ratio’s Traces, prioritize getting his Talent, Skill, and Ultimate maxed out first. These parts of his kit are the ones you’re going to be using the most when he’s on the field, and they all play into his follow-up attack. Additionally, getting his Major Traces when they unlock will boost his CRIT DMG/Rate and allow him to do even more damage when enemies are debuffed.

Best Dr. Ratio Team Comps

Dr. Ratio’s follow-up attack makes him a great fit on most teams that need an extra DPS to unleash damage without taking up a turn. However, since he is a Hunt character, his true damage potential shines when he’s taking down single-targets, like bosses. Naturally, you’ll likely want to build a team around Dr. Ratio if you’re using him for this reason, but there are other team comps that he works well in that don’t put all the DPS pressure on him.

Team #1: Dr. Ratio, Topaz, Ruan Mei, and Aventurine

This premium team of 5-star characters all synergize well with each other since Dr. Ratio, Topaz, and Aventurine will trigger and/or enhance each other’s follow-up attacks. Topaz’s kit relies on other teammates’ follow-up attacks to give her more opportunities to deal out damage, taking some DPS pressure off of Dr. Ratio. Additionally, Aventurine and Topaz can both debuff via their skills/Ultimates, which will trigger Dr. Ratio’s bonus Trace that gives him extra damage on debuffed enemies.

Ruan Mei helps enhance her teammates’ overall damage, but she isn’t really necessary on this team and can be swapped out for a different Harmony unit like Tingyun. If you don’t have Aventurine, another F2P sustain unit like March 7th or Natasha could help give you extra survivability. However, Topaz is a little tougher to replace since she does add a ton of damage. If you don’t have her, you may want to create a team like the one below that’s just centered around Dr. Ratio.

Team #2: Dr. Ratio, Silver Wolf, Bronya, and Lynx

This team puts Dr. Ratio in the role of the main damage dealer. While this team also consists of 5-star characters, a lot of them can be easily swapped out with other 4- or 5-star characters that accomplish similar roles to Silver Wolf and Bronya. Silver Wolf can apply three debuffs for just one skill point, allowing Dr. Ratio to dish out serious damage. If you don’t have her though, other Nihility units like Guinaifen or Pela work really well.

Bronya gives Dr. Ratio more opportunities to attack since she can advance him forward with her skill. While her addition does add a ton of extra damage, if you don’t have her, you can use another Harmony unit like Tingyun for more energy and an ATK boost. Lynx is mainly here to provide extra survivability, but can easily be replaced with any other F2P sustain unit like Natasha or March 7th.

We hope that this Dr. Ratio build lets you take down enemies with ease. For more tips on character builds, team comps, and more, be sure to check out our HSR guides.
