The quest starts with the deal to make Brokr the Elven dish in exchange for Scalecinder. It involves going back to the Sacred Arbor to Doireann to make nutriabh and returning to Sara in Bakbattahl. Here’s how to complete Out of the Forest Into the Forge in Dragon’s Dogma 2.

Out of the Forest Into the Forge is the second part of The Ailing Arborheart quest. Here’s how to complete Out of the Forest Into the Forge:

• Go back to Doireann in the Arbor and tell her about the Scalecinder deal.
• She’ll ask you to gather ingredients for nutriabh which are a Rotten Apple and Rotten Shorefish. I don’t recommend bringing a pawn with the Logistician specialization since they’ll use these ingredients to craft Dried curatives.
• I found a Shorefish right in the Scared Arbor’s lake, and I had to leave the Arbor for the apple. That said, you may have both already. Wait for a few days for them to rot at the nearby Arbor bench or Inn.
• Bring the rotten ingredients back to Doireann, and she’ll make nutriabh.
• Once it’s ready, go back to Bakbattahl and speak to Sara at Brokr’s Smithy, I used a Ferrystone Doireann gave me.

• Sara will tell you that Scalecinder is in a nearby cave, and you can follow her to the location above.
• Once you reach the cave, a cutscene will trigger where you enter it and now you can start gathering Scalecinder. You can find Scalecinder in green powder patches on the ground and I recommend breaking all the crates since some of it is hidden beneath them.
• Once you’re done, head to the place where you can choose how much Scalecinder you want to give to Doireann. I gave her six, and this completed the quest and healed the Arborheart fully. Return to the Arborheart at any point to see the tree healed and start Doireann’s companion side quest.
