Payday 3 Recommended System Requirements

  • OS: Windows 10
  • CPU: Intel Core i7-9700K
  • RAM: 16GB
  • GPU: Nvidia GTX 1080 8GB
  • Storage: ???

Storage is the only aspect we’re unsure of right now, as that hasn’t been shared yet. The install size for the Payday 3 closed technical beta was 23.3GB for me. But that might not be the best indicator since it was an older build from April. After all, Payday 2 comes in at 83GB, almost four times that.

The rest of the stated minimum and recommended requirements for Payday 3 aren’t that bad. That’s especially true for anyone with a relatively modern PC. They might seem alarming for some members of the community who have been playing Payday 2 since its early years. But to be fair, that game came out essentially a decade ago.

The good news is that Unreal Engine is a lot better at optimization than the dreaded Diesel game engine. My PC is closer to the minimum system requirements. However, I was still able to hit 60FPS with medium settings during the Payday 3 beta. Ultra settings naturally were a massive hit to performance, although I managed to stay between 30fps-40fps just by lowering the shadow quality a little bit. That certainly isn’t the ideal, but it’s not bad for an older rig.

I would like to point out that my experience wasn’t indicative of everyone else’s. There are plenty of people with much beefier PCs that had issues. Hopefully, that’s due to beta build being an older build. Here’s hoping that the Payday 3 launch build irons out those issues.

That’s everything we currently know about the Payday 3 system requirements. We’ll be updating this guide once we know what the storage requirements are. Keep an eye on here for future Payday 3 content as we approach its September 21 release date on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
